「生命熱線」簡介
About Suicide Prevention Services

「生命熱線」致力向有自殺傾向、感到絕望及有情緒困擾的人士提供益友及其他預防自殺服務，使他們情緒得以紓緩，從而積極面對人生。「生命熱線」服務包括︰24小時預防自殺熱線、預防長者自殺服務、以及「釋心同行」自殺者親友支援計劃、以及生命及社區教育，希望提高公眾對自殺的認識，並尋求預防自殺的有效方法。

「生命熱線」自1995年成立以來，一直秉承益友的理念，時至今日，該會的義工已超過700人，於服務上積極參與，輔以專業社工及其他專業人士的協助，使「生命熱線」的服務更具成效。

Suicide Prevention Services (SPS) aims to provide befriending services to people who are suicidal, in despair or emotional distressed, in order to help them to regain control of their emotions and the will to live on. Services of SPS include: 24-hr suicide prevention hotline, outreach services for suicidal elderly, project BLESS (support service for suicide survivors), community education and resource corner for suicide prevention to raise the general awareness of suicide and identifying ways in which suicides can be prevented.

Since SPS was founded in 1995, based on the befriending concept, SPS has over 700 volunteers actively providing the services with the support of social workers as well as other professionals to enable the services of SPS to be more effective.
